Council grants available for community groups impacted by COVID-19

What an abnormal year 2020 has been so far. Our region, like the entire country, is facing challenging times ahead, as we better understand and recover from COVID-19. The most important thing right now is for council to help our community get back on its feet.

I’m pleased to share with you council has activated COVID-19 Community Response Grants and expanded its Emergency Grants. Eligible not-for-profit community groups can apply for grants between $3000 and $10,000. Visit council’s website to see the conditions and to apply. Hurry, applications close on June 1.

Libraries now open

I’m sure it was welcome news for many to hear our libraries re-opened on Monday 25 May. You can now visit Caloundra Library to browse, pick up, reserve and borrow items. A total of 10 customers are permitted inside the library at a time. Please ensure you continue to practice social distancing, good hygiene and please do not visit if you are feeling unwell. The Click & Collect service is also still available.

Thank you

I would like to thank the Division 1 communities for placing your continued trust in me as your council representative and I was humbled to accept the nomination by my fellow councillors to be the Deputy Mayor for this term. Personally, I would also like to thank my supporters, family and friends.

As always, I welcome feedback from my community and I look forward to representing you during this council term.
