Thank you to all the divisional community groups who got back to me about what they think is acceptable for a Yaroomba beachfront site. I’ve been inundated with an unprecedented amount of emails, text messages and phone calls over the past few weeks. It’s obvious this is an important issue to our community.
Last call for grant applications
Council’s Community Grants and Environment Levy Grants Programs are closing on Monday, September 15 at 5pm, so now is the time to submit any last minute applications. If you’re a not-for-profit community group with a project that demonstrates significant community need and benefit, you may be eligible for a Community Grant of up to $30,000.
Environment Levy Grants of up to $5,000 are also available to assist not-for-profit groups with projects that make a positive contribution to the region’s biodiversity and waterways. Visit www.sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au/grants for further details and to apply online.
Sunshine Coast Business Gateway
Council has launched the new Sunshine Coast Business Gateway, an online portal which connects local businesses to projects and procurement opportunities – and vice versa – right here on the Sunshine Coast. Sunshine Coast businesses of all sizes can create and maintain a free online profile to receive notifications about upcoming projects and ensure they are considered for opportunities across the region. Visit council’s website to create your company profile.
The Gateway also makes it easy for project managers to search for suppliers in the region. If you’re a business, developer or event director and if your project is valued at more than $200,000, council will list it for free. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to organise the listing.
