Coastal Pathway Master Plan

Council will soon be seeking feedback on the draft Coastal Pathway Master Plan to help guide future construction, with the aim of having a world class pathway from Bells Creek in the south to Stumers Creek in the north.  Community information will be available later this month – please take this opportunity to have your say. Information will be available in various ways, including on council’s website and Facebook, so keep an eye out. For more information please contact me on 5420 8978.

Currimundi Lake midges

The current closure of Lake Currimundi is showing extremely pleasing results for reducing midge numbers. Larval levels are very similar to those recorded at the same stage as previous successful closures and in fact, we’ve had less than previous years and numbers are expected to decrease further. If this closure follows a similar trend to the previous ones, and there is no reason to believe it won’t, then we should see a continuing decline over the next week or two. We anticipate reopening the lake in mid-October, weather pending.
