The Sunshine Coast Council is advising dog owners that registration renewals across the region will be mailed out 1 August, not 1 July as in previous years.
Service Delivery Committee Chairman, Councillor Paul Tatton, said the change is part of a move by the Regional Council to introduce more consistent processes across the amalgamated local government area.
“Dog owners will have two months to make payment, with the extra month provided to avoid a clash with rate notices,” Cr Tatton said.
“This process aligns all dog registrations across the Sunshine Coast region and they will subsequently all have an expiry date of 30 June each year from 2009.”
Cr Tatton said that dog owners wanting to register their dogs in July may still do so if they wish.
Residents in the former Caloundra City area, whose dog registration was previously due on the anniversary of the initial payment, will receive a pro-rata fee to bring the registration up to 30 June next year.
The renewal notices will include details of a range of payment options, including bill express. For further information, please contact Council’s Customer Service team on 1300 00 7272 (local calls only, excluding mobiles) or 5475 7272.
