Major sponsor, Sunshine Coast Council applauds the huge interest being shown in the 2010 Sunshine Coast Excellence in Business Awards that will be announced in November.

Division 12 Councillor and Economic Development and Entrepreneurship Chair, Lew Brennan said over 400 submissions have been lodged for the annual awards that are run by the Maroochy Chamber of Commerce.

“A record 130 finalists in just one of the 13 business awards categories clearly demonstrates the level of interest, awareness and participation of Sunshine Coast businesses,” Cr Lew Brennan said.

“These numbers reflect not only the respect and value our local businesses place on the awards, but also the consumer demand for excellence from local enterprises,” he said.

“All entrants should be extremely proud of their finalist status – and I encourage all business even if not an entrant or finalist to at least attend the award ceremony to see the standards of service and professionalism that helps ensure a business remaining profitable and productive here on the Coast.”

“The awards are an endorsement of the outstanding efforts of our local businesses with the actual award ceremony offering a networking opportunity with the region’s business innovators and leaders, and the chance to support the efforts of our local businesses,” Cr Brennan said.

“The awards also demonstrate to the rest of Australia that the Sunshine Coast supports and is open for business.

Sunshine Coast Council is proud to be a sponsor of the 16th Sunshine Coast Excellence in Business Awards to be held on November 6, 2010 at the Innovation Centre Sippy Downs.
