The latest round of Sunshine Coast Council’s Community Grants Program is now open.
Community groups can apply for a minor grant of up to $2000 or a major grant of up to $50,000 to assist with projects that benefit Sunshine Coast communities.
Community Programs Portfolio Councillor Jenny McKay said council can help community groups with their application.
"Funding is very competitive, so we encourage applicants to read the guidelines before starting an application and contact us if they need help. Our Grants Officers can help groups to determine if their project is eligible and can review a draft application," said Cr McKay.
"Our grants information sessions are also a great opportunity for applicants to get grant writing tips and explore other funding opportunities."
Community groups can apply for funding for one-off projects through one of seven categories:
- Community Development
- Cultural Development
- Economic Development
- Festive Season Activities
- Heritage and History
- Sport, Recreation and Healthy Living.
Grant information sessions will be held at libraries across the region between 8 to 16 August. Bookings are essential.
Contact a Grants Officer on 5441 8616 to book your spot at an information session or for help with your application.
Applications are also open for the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF), which supports professional artists, arts workers and organisations. RADF is a Queensland Government partnership through Arts Queensland and council to support local arts and culture.
Applications for Community Grants and RADF close at 5pm Saturday 1 September 2012.
