Share the spirit of Christmas and catch up with neighbours, both old and new, by heading to Carols on Kings Beach on Saturday, December 20 from 4.30pm.
Sunshine Coast Mayor Mark Jamieson said Council had taken on the role of major partner to bring regional community carols events to residents and visitors across the Coast.
“Council’s new approach to community carols events continues to support family focussed, free celebrations during this special time of the year,” he said.
“This year, for the first time, we are pleased to partner with Calvary Christian Church to present the Carols on Kings Beach and Carols at Cotton Tree.”
Division 2 Councillor Tim Dwyer said with the support of Calvary Christian Church the much-loved Carols on Kings Beach will continue to grow and be enhanced.
“My family is looking forward to singing our Christmas favourite carols at the free Carols on Kings Beach on Saturday, December 20 at Kings Beach Amphitheatre,” Cr Dwyer said.
“Bring a blanket or chair and join local performers for a night of fantastic family entertainment.”
Pastor James Macpherson from Calvary Christian Church said it is an incredible privilege to serve the local community by presenting the carol service.
“It is a chance to serve the local community by providing a wonderful Christmas experience for families. But more than that, it’s an opportunity to show off what a great place the Sunshine Coast is to the many thousands of people who will be visiting the region from around the country and beyond,” he said.
“Christmas is a time of celebration and goodwill between people regardless of their background. I’m sure the carols events at Cotton Tree and at Kings Park will reflect that.
“The talent that has been organised to perform the two Carols is outstanding. It will be more than a show to come and enjoy as there will be plenty of interaction with people as well. Our aim has always been there should be something for everybody at these Carols events.”
Carols on Kings Beach is held on Saturday, December 20 from 4.30pm and will end with a fireworks finale at 8.30pm.
Sunshine Coast Council is also sponsoring the Nambour Community Carols, Glasshouse Country Carols and Coolum Christmas in the Park events. For a list of other community carols celebrations please visit Council's events calendar on the EventsHub.
