The Caloundra Mini Festival is all set to showcase 75 music and visual artists, with the first round of live music tonight (Oct 1) at Drift and Whispers Bar & Cocktail Lounge.
The Whispers Bar & Cocktail Lounge is taking on the CMF Kings Club banner and has a wonderful line-up of artists from October 1-5 featuring a few Caloundra Music Festival favourites like Band of Frequencies, Bearfoot , Sunny Coast Rude Boys, T H U M P, Fat Picnic and Pocket Love, along with some superb jazz and blues acts like JaZZella, Zac Hurran, Swing Central and the Simon Drew Quartet. Tickets range from $20-70
Other venues offering FREE live music for the long weekend include the Caloundra Power Boat Club, Caloundra RSL, Coffee Cat on Kings and Drift Bar.
Now that Queensland live performance venues can go to checkerboard seating (50% capacity) more tickets have been released for Russell Morris AM. A special concert at The Events Centre will celebrate the launch of his new album on Friday night.
Also starting Friday night, locals and visitors can take a night stroll along the boardwalk and through the Caloundra CBD to enjoy a new immersive arts experience, Luminate!
Felicity Park, The Esplanade and Bulcock Beach will come alive with lighting and projections from 6pm -10pm until Sunday, and the nightly Twilight Markets will be a great anchor to the Luminate! walking trail.
The COVID Safe Plan approved by Queensland Health sets out a checklist of COVID safe priorities to comply with Industry Guidelines and/or legislation and ensure the safe operation of the Luminate! event.
Luminate! is a partnership between Sunshine Coast Council, Downtown Caloundra Taskforce and Caloundra Chamber of Commerce and The Art Hub.

Image: Artist Kellie O’Dempsey’s Street Love celebrates community space as a place of consideration and wonder. Incorporating light, video, collage and projection Kellie invites audiences to share in a participatory exchange through perceptual experience. Street Love includes artwork by Adam Anderson, CLUNKK (Sophie Reid-Singer) and Mick Dick. Together these artists explore the relationship between the physical environment, illumination and colour to create new interpretations of familiar places.
