Council’s wholly owned subsidiary company Sunshine Coast Enterprises Pty Ltd is seeking company directors from across the Sunshine Coast for volunteer board positions.
Economic development portfolio holder, Councillor Lew Brennan said that in July this year, council resolved to transition Caloundra City Enterprises Pty Ltd, a previous initiative of Caloundra City Council, into a new whole of region entity.
“The company, renamed Sunshine Coast Enterprises Pty Ltd, is responsible for the delivery of business development services right across the Sunshine Coast and hinterland,” Cr Brennan said.
“It is now seeking directors with strong business skills and experience and a passion for private sector business success, to work with the company’s chief executive officer,” he said.
“All appointments will be made on a skills-based assessment, with a geographic spread of board members intended to reflect the company’s new regional focus.”
“Council is looking forward to the working with SCE and its board of directors in delivering services across the region.”
“Sunshine Coast businesses provide the jobs our community needs to sustain our enviable standard of living, so we need to be doing everything we can both now and into the future, to assist Sunshine Coast business to remain successful in a highly competitive environment,” Cr Brennan said.
