Community Portfolio Councillor Jenny McKay said talking, reading, singing and playing with your child from birth is instrumental in building the foundational skills they need for future learning.
“It is well researched that using Duplo and building blocks aid in the development of cognitive and motor skills allowing children to begin the process of learning how to concentrate and develop vital numeracy skills,” Cr McKay said.
“If parents join in, it also aids their language and literacy skills with their children.
“We are extremely fortunate as Bricks 4 kidz will be facilitating the sessions and are passionate about children’s education and the need for Australia to be a nation of builders.”
