There is an electric buzz in the air as Nambour Civic Centre receives a revamp in time for Sunshine Coast Council’s 2013 Theatre Season performances.
Division 10 Councillor Greg Rogerson said the Nambour Civic Centre has played an important role in the community bringing a variety of outstanding entertainment to the Coast since 1991.
“We are very excited to announce we are rolling out a number of improvements” he said.
“The revamp includes new tiered seating, a fly system upgrade and a new cinema screen for the performance venue.
“The current seating which has served the community well will be removed and replaced with plush retractable seating allowing the audience to get up close to the action more than ever before.
“Importantly the capacity for the performance hall will increase from 720 to 810 seats and will include benefits such as direct angle viewing providing maximum comfort and experience.”
Cr Rogerson said another welcomed addition to the performance hall is the installation of an upgraded theatrical fly system.
“This means there will be improved efficiency of the overhead stage mechanics and allow for larger sets and stage areas.
“Additionally, Nambour Arthouse Cinema enthusiasts will also be delighted when movies are brought to life with the new state-of-the-art cinema screen offering improved digital resolution and colour.
“I encourage residents and visitors to be the first to experience the improvements at Nambour Civic Centre while enjoying some of the best entertainment to be found on the Coast in 2013.”
