ImageIf you loved Jane Harper’s bestseller The Dry, make sure you head to Sunshine Coast Libraries Big Book Club lively panel discussion at council’s Maroochydore Library from 7pm to 8.30pm on Thursday, June 22.

The panel will review The Dry, a crime novel set in Australia, which has been sold to 20 publishers worldwide and optioned as a film by American actor Reese Witherspoon’s company.

The New York Times referred to The Dry as “a breathless page-turner, a secret on every page”.

Author Jane Harper previously worked as a print journalist for 13 years both in Australia and the United Kingdom.

The Dry is her first novel and won the Victorian Premier’s 2015 Literary Award for an Unpublished Manuscript.

The Dry is Australian crime fiction as its very best and a story about heroism, the sins of the past and community life in rural Australia.

Special guests on the Big Book Club panel include USC journalism lecturer, Courier Mail and News Ltd columnist Dr Jane Fynes-Clinton and ABC Sunshine Coast drive time radio announcer Sheridan Stewart.

Sheridan is passionate about the written word and can be heard regularly interviewing national and international authors on her show.

Enjoy light refreshments and live entertainment by singer and songwriter Pepper Jane.

There will be a cash wine bar available on the night. Tickets are $25 per person and bookings are essential via council’s library website.
