Council today announced a unique opportunity for companies to align their brand with the highly coveted 2015 Sunshine Coast Art Prize – the prestigious art competition that attracts entries from across Australia.

Community Programs Portfolio Councillor Jenny McKay said Council invites companies who are committed supporters of the arts to align and increase their brand by becoming a sponsor of the Sunshine Coast Art Prize 2015 which will celebrate its 10th anniversary in a high profile way this year.

“This is a great chance for companies to increase their brand awareness and enhance their existing market audience to one of the Sunshine Coast’s signature events for 2015,” Cr McKay said.

“This exclusive sponsorship opportunity is rare and represents a range of benefits for businesses.

“We welcome enquiries from companies, organisations or individuals interested in sponsoring the Sunshine Coast Art Prize 2015. Last year the available sponsorships filled quickly and we are anticipating a similar response in 2015.”

Cr McKay said Sunshine Coast Art Prize is now celebrating its 10th year and has achieved national acclaim for its annual representation of contemporary Australian art.

“This significant art prize provides a distinguished contribution to the Australian art calendar and attracts some of the nation’s top contemporary and emerging artists, offering combined prizes in excess of $125,000,” Cr McKay said.

“In 2015 Council is sponsoring four categories including a Two-Dimensional (2D) Award, New Media Award, Sunshine Coast Landscape and Wildlife Photography Prize and the Sunshine Coast Inaugural Environmental Art Award.

“Awards including the Eumundi Sculpture Prize, Sculpture On The Edge, the Kenilworth Painting Prize and Kenilworth Trophy Art Competition, the Friends of Caloundra Regional Gallery Local Artists - Local Content Art Prize, The Holmes Art Prize, Suncoast Clayworkers Spring Fever and more will join forces for a region-wide celebration of visual arts of the greatest quality and diversity.”

The Sunshine Coast Art Prize 2015 award culminates in an exhibition of the 40 finalists at Caloundra Regional Gallery from August 20 to October 11, as well as finalist exhibitions across the region throughout Spring 2015.
