Caloundra Music Festival

In breaking news both not-so-good and good, due to an injury suffered by John Butler Trio bass player Byron Luiters, John Butler will now be performing solo at the upcoming Caloundra Music Festival (CMF).
The festival, which runs from October 3 to 6, was to feature John Butler Trio playing Saturday October 4 at 8.30pm, however Butler will now perform solo at 6pm.
“The good news is that Megan Washington and her band will now move into the evening spot previously occupied by JBT,” CMF director Richie Eyles said.
“Megan has released a new album ‘There, there’, just this week – her first in three years – and she is an exciting last-minute addition to our line up.
“And to add even more excitement to Saturday’s line-up, CMF’s favourite rock sisters Stonefield will hit the stage around 4.30pm on the same day.”
Mr Eyles forwarded his commiserations to Byron on behalf of the CMF team following a mishap where he fractured a wrist.
“We all wish Byron a speedy recovery – stay off that wrist for a while, mate – and a big thanks to John for graciously agreeing to carry on with the gig – that’s more good news in itself,” he said.
“And every cloud has that silver lining, so it’s great that we’ve now got both Megan and her band and Stonefield coming on board.”
