Council is embarking on a strong and prosperous future.  It aims for 

  • a progressive approach to sustainable economic growth
  • opportunities that are unrivalled anywhere in Australia.

Council’s Regional Economic Development Strategy is a blueprint for sustainable economic growth until 2033. In it are identified seven high value industries that offer the greatest potential to succeed as the region’s economy grows.

The Future Careers program highlights the impact that technology and innovation will have on the Strategy’s seven high value industries and jobs of the future.  High school students from across the region engage with hands-on interactive displays at events and activities such as

Council has partnered with the My Weekly Preview magazine as part of the Future Careers program. This program highlights the wealth of information and opportunities available to help connect and support young people and their parents. This proactive approach ensures students are prepared to meet the future needs of our growing economy.

Cultivating our future

Our region has a unique entrepreneurial ecosystem with a network of

  • education programs
  • co-working spaces
  • advocacy
  • events
  • meet ups.

These have developed organically across the community providing young people with a wealth of opportunities that help connect and support them.

This collaborative project is hosted by Regional Development Australia Sunshine Coast in partnership with council and a large network of organisations and individuals, whose aim is to connect people on the topic of digital innovation. For more information visit Digital Sunshine Coast
