There are a number of ways to find what you are looking for quickly:

• The site search is located in the top right hand corner of every page and provides a comprehensive list of results.
• Links on the homepage provide easy access to frequently accessed and topical pages.
• There is a range of links in the footer of the homepage and every page.
• Use the top level navigation to find a topic.
• Browse the A-Z listing of webpages to find a topic.
• Locate information via the site map.

Links that lead to another website are indicated with the following symbol: and do not open in a new window.

Links to documents are followed by the file type and size and open in a new window, for example [PDF 345KB].

Viewing large files

To view files over 2MB, you should download them to your PC. Right click on the link and select 'Save target/file as'. If you continually experience difficulties downloading a file, please complete this online form.

If you are having trouble with one of council's websites, check the site status, view the list of frequently asked questions. Or complete the online support form.

Viewing PDFs

Many of the documents on this website are in PDF (Portable Document Format) and require Adobe Acrobat Reader to view. The easiest way to get an Acrobat Reader is to download it directly from the Adobe website .

If you are having difficulties viewing PDF files, try the following:

• Right click on the link to the PDF file and select "save target as".
• This allows you to save the file to your local drive.
• When the download is complete, you will be given the option to Open, Open Folder or Close.
• Select Open to view the file or locate the file on your local drive and click to open and view.

Note: For links to work in PDFs when using Ipads you need Adobe Reader for Apple installed on your Ipad.

Converting PDF documents to a more accessible format

To convert PDF documents to HTML or plain text formats, use the online conversion tools on  the Adobe website .

Viewing (text) Word documents

In many instances, PDF documents are also provided in an accesible text (Microsoft Word) format. You may require a Word reader to view these documents. You can download the Word reader from the Office website .
