Rates Payments
Council offers you a number of convenient ways to pay your rates.
Online
Pay your rates online with Mastercard or Visa via MyCouncil
You will need your reference number and the amount payable.
Credit card by phone
Phone 131 816 and follow the prompts. You will need the Billpay code and your reference number. Please refer to your rates notice under 'Payment Options'. Council accepts both Mastercard and Visa.

BPAY is a national bill payment service that allows customers to pay bills to billers via telephone or internet banking. Call or log on to your participating financial institution to make a payment from your nominated savings account/or credit card account. Please quote the BPay details shown on your rates notice payment slip.
Note: To receive the discount, you must make your payment by the due date and prior to your financial institution's cut off time. Please contact your financial institution for these details.
Direct debit
Direct debit is an authorisation that you give to the council to take money from your bank account at certain times to:
- pay money off your overdue rates
- prepay your rates
- pay rates in full by the due date.
Complete the Direct debit authority form [PDF 142KB] and post or drop off to council's customer service centre.
If you have no arrears outstanding from previous rating periods and you set up a direct debit to make periodic payments sufficient to clear the current rates by the end of the current rating period, you will also need to make an arrangement to pay by completing an online application or phoning council's customer service centre. Certain terms and conditions apply to all arrangements, however interest is not charged on your current rates if you pay by instalments.
Mail
Send your cheque or money order with the tear-off section of your rate notice to council's customer service centre. Please make cheque/money order payable to Sunshine Coast Council.
