Free Holiday Buses

Sunshine Coast and Noosa councils, in partnership with Translink provided free public transport for everyone on the Sunshine Coast between 26 December 2013 to 5 January 2014. This initiative was funded by council's Public Transport Levy.

The Free Holiday Bus Program is an initiative of council's Sustainable Transport Strategy. The aim of the program is to increase numbers on public transport services and reduce traffic congestion across the Coast.

The free services included:

  • All Sunshine Coast TransLink Sunbus services
  • Glasshouse Country Coaches Hinterland Connect and Maleny-Landsborough-Beerwah services
  • FlexiLink services (Boreen Point to Tewantin, Conondale to Witta to Maleny, Kenilworth to Mapleton, Peachester to Beerwah and Lake Macdonald to Cooroy)
  • Council Cabs services.
