Displaced animals

During periods of heavy rainfall, animals can be displaced from their natural environment and look for alternative refuge. Snakes in particular have been known to seek refuge in homes during floods. If you find a snake in your home, contact the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service on 1300 130 372.

A recorded message will provide you with advice and phone numbers for snake catchers in your area. Do not attempt to catch or kill snakes found in the home.
