Emergency Management

Disasters and emergencies can strike at anytime and in many forms. The Sunshine Coast's natural disaster risks include thunderstorms, floods, and bushfires. Natural disasters can cause severe disruption to daily life, and damage community infrastructure and services.

Council works through the Sunshine Coast Local Disaster Management Group, with emergency services agencies, the state government and local volunteer groups, to improve the safety and the resilience of the community due to disasters and emergencies.

For assistance with flood or storm emergencies, call the State Emergency Services (SES) on 132 500.
