Council Elections

Polling day for the next council elections will be Saturday 19 March 2016. Residents will vote for a divisional councillor and a mayor (who is elected across the region).

Local government elections are conducted every four years by the Electoral Commission of Queensland (ECQ). Voting is compulsory as outlined in the Local Government Electoral Act 2011Link exits to another website

  • Enrol to vote
  • Check enrolment details
  • Check voting options, including polling booth locations and pre-polling voting
  • Check divisional boundary information.

Divisional boundary review

New divisional boundaries for the region will take effect from 19 March 2016 (Election Day). More information about boundary changes for the Sunshine Coast, including boundary maps, is available from ECQLink exits to another website .
