Every four years the Electoral Commission of Queensland (ECQ) conducts local government elections. The current Sunshine Coast Council was elected on 28 April 2012.
Noosa Council election
The de-amalgamation of Sunshine Coast Council is due to take effect on 1 January 2014 with the establishment of the new Noosa Council.
The election for councillors and mayor for the new Noosa Council was held on 9 November 2013.
The election applied only to voters who live in current divisions 11 and 12 of the Sunshine Coast Regional Council area.
It was run by ECQ. Neither the Sunshine Coast Council Chief Executive Officer, nor the Noosa Transfer Manager has any role in the conduct of the election.
