The Sunshine Coast's Environment

The Sunshine Coast region lies within one of the most biodiverse areas of Australia. The region contains an extensive range of ecosystems that supports plant and animal species of international, national, regional and local significance.

Council works to manage environmental sustainability through a range of programs. Council's newsletter bush hands, is published every three months, and provides an update on community conservation issues and upcoming events. Each issue is an informative resource, containing plant, animal and weed profiles, biodiversity trivia, updates on local environment events and land management advice.
