Community Engagement Policy and Overview

Council conducts many forms of community engagement and recognises that community engagement creates important opportunities for dialogue with the community. Council's community engagement activities range from providing information and updates about council planning and projects, to more active consultation to inform policies, strategies and initiatives.

Community engagement allows council to understand community perspectives. This enables identification of shared issues and opportunities, helps with decision-making, and facilitates the development of partnerships that help council create a sustainable region.

Community engagement process

Council's community engagement program provides you with the opportunity to have your say and stay informed on a range of council activities and initiatives.

Through the engagement process, you can:

• have your say on all current community engagement opportunities
• stay informed on a range of past engagement activities
• follow the progress of a range of council projects
• follow the decisions council makes via its meeting minutes.
